# Meta-Fieldnote
A fieldnote represents something from the outside world (e.g. facts, procedures) entering my own world and is **contextualized** for me by asking *How does this relate to me?"* (contrary to a classic "wiki", which simply lists facts). Many researchers kept a note-book containing their observations of the world around them. These notes aim to serve the same purpose — **a notepad I write into while exploring**.
Fieldnotes are usually created while exploring a topic, which means they appear in a [[Meta-Naming|certain order]] and [[Meta-Linking|relate]] to other topics.
